Solar System

This is my Solar System project for CAS 117. I expanded the original project by adding additional planets, improving the orbital system, and creating new camera and UI features.

I added the following features:

• Mercury
• Venus
• Mars
• Jupiter
• Saturn with custom rings
• Uranus
• Neptune
• Pluto
• Different orbital speeds for each planet
• Different starting orbital angles so the planets are distributed around the Sun
• Moon orbiting Earth
• Planet self-rotation
• Clickable planets
• Left and right arrow-key planet selection
• A camera system that automatically moves to and follows the selected planet
• A UI label showing the currently selected planet, such as “← Earth →”
• A minimap showing the solar system
• Improved Sun lighting
• Planet materials and textures
• Planet sound effects
• Comets with spawning, movement, and trail effects

Controls:

• Left Mouse Click — Select a planet
• Left Arrow — Select the previous planet
• Right Arrow — Select the next planet
• Right Mouse Click — Return to the default selection
